China and UAE Launch Fourth ‘Falcon Shield’ Joint Military Drills

China and the United Arab Emirates are conducting their fourth joint ‘Falcon Shield 2026’ military exercise in China’s Xinjiang region, aiming to enhance tactical capabilities and operational cooperation between their air forces.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China‘s Ministry of National Defense announced on Friday that the Chinese Air Force and the UAE Air Force will hold the “Falcon Shield 2026” joint exercise in Hotan city, located in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of northwestern China.

The ministry stated that the exercise is scheduled to take place from late August to mid-September. It will encompass command simulations, flight training, and practical operational drills involving real forces in combined formations.

This joint exercise, marking the fourth iteration of the “Falcon Shield” series, is intended to bolster the tactical proficiency of participating units and deepen the operational ties and collaboration between the military forces of the two nations.
