Maritime Blockade Tightens: Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Port Sees Reduced Tanker Traffic

Maritime blockade efforts by Yemen have led to a noticeable decrease in oil tanker activity at Saudi Arabia’s vital Yanbu port, according to maritime data specialists.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, maritime data from Lloyd’s List, a publication specializing in maritime intelligence, indicates a decline in the deployment of oil tankers at Saudi Arabia‘s Yanbu port. This development follows the maritime blockade declared by Yemen.

Previously, Lloyd’s List had reported that at least eleven oil tankers near the Yanbu port had deactivated their tracking systems subsequent to Yemen’s announcement of a maritime blockade.

The publication further warned that disruptions to Saudi Arabia’s oil export routes via the Red Sea could compel the kingdom to utilize longer and more costly alternative routes for its oil shipments.
