Oil Tanker Traffic Significantly Decreases in Strait of Hormuz Following Iranian Threats

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Al Jazeera reported that data compiled on vessel traffic in the Strait of Hormuz over the last 48 hours reveals a substantial decrease in oil tanker activity in this vital waterway. The report, citing its own analysis, stated that during this period, 24 cargo ships, three gas carriers, and five oil tankers transited the strait. Al Jazeera suggested that this decline in oil tanker passage is a direct consequence of recent Iranian warnings regarding the potential obstruction of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, posted on a social media platform that if the economic war persists, not a single drop of oil will be exported, neither through the Strait of Hormuz nor from any point in the Persian Gulf. He further asserted that Iran will consider any country’s participation in or support for the United States’ economic war against the Iranian people as an act of war.
