Trump Accused of Spreading Falsehoods Against Iran Amidst Domestic Economic Woes
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday took to his Truth Social platform to once again allegedly engage in misinformation against Tehran, seeking to escape a wave of criticism directed at him for the costly consequences of his administration’s aggressive stance toward Iran. These actions have reportedly led to increased fuel and agricultural food prices domestically.
The U.S. President, attempting to placate American public opinion which is reportedly suffering from price hikes stemming from the repercussions of his administration’s belligerence towards Iran and the destabilization of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, claimed: “Iran is completely collapsing!”
This assertion comes as Donald Trump today reportedly re-shared a fragmented and falsified version of remarks made by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on his social media. In response to this psychological operation, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly sarcastically invoked Trump’s election slogan, stating: “We will make America hungry again!” He then published an image displaying statistics, based on official reports from reputable international and American institutions, concerning hunger among the American populace, thereby illustrating the real crisis facing American society: 47 million people facing hunger and food insecurity across the United States.
He further stated that one in every eight American citizens goes to bed hungry each night, emphasizing that 16 million American children are victims of organized poverty and livelihood crises, and that hunger is a pervasive issue in all American cities.
In a section of the shared image, Ghalibaf addressed Trump directly, writing that these numbers are not fabricated like Trump’s bluffs and fake news, and that he cannot compensate for his own defeats against Iran through lies.
