Iran’s Economy Resilient Despite Sanctions, Says Official

A senior Iranian economic official asserted the nation’s economic resilience and its ability to overcome the challenges posed by international sanctions, highlighting robust domestic capabilities.

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohammadreza Pour-e-Ebrahimi, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s Economic Commission, stated that Iran possesses the capacity to withstand and navigate the complexities of international sanctions.

Pour-e-Ebrahimi emphasized that the Iranian economy has demonstrated significant resilience, adapting to external pressures through strategic planning and leveraging its domestic resources. He suggested that the government and economic policymakers have implemented measures to mitigate the impact of sanctions, ensuring the continuity of essential economic activities and promoting self-sufficiency.

The lawmaker further elaborated on the nation’s efforts to foster economic growth and stability, particularly in sectors less directly affected by external restrictions. He highlighted the importance of domestic production, technological advancement, and intra-regional trade as key components of Iran’s economic strategy moving forward. Pour-e-Ebrahimi indicated that the country is actively pursuing avenues to enhance its economic independence and reduce its vulnerability to external shocks, underscoring a commitment to long-term economic development despite ongoing geopolitical challenges.
