Iran and Resistance Front United Against Arrogance, Says Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, described the historical and combative background of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance front as highly instructive during a meeting with Basim Naeem, the head of Islamic relations for the Hamas movement. Ghalibaf asserted that the essence of these struggles lies in the war of truth against falsehood and in confronting arrogance, with the spirit of resistance re-emerging in new guises over the last five decades.
During the meeting, which took place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Ghalibaf highlighted that the core of the resistance front is its fight against oppression. He underscored that while negotiations are not rejected, they are merely a tool for struggle, and abandoning the fight against the United States and the Zionist regime in its various manifestations would signify defeat. He referenced Iran’s negotiations with the United States, stating that Iran emphasized the end of their war against Iran and its allies within the resistance front as part of a memorandum of understanding. This contrasted with the initial 15-article proposal from the opposing side, which had demanded a complete halt to Iran’s missile, nuclear, and resistance activities.
Ghalibaf further stated that all axes of the resistance front are unified and must follow a common, essential path to preserve the front for the continuation of the war of truth. He observed that even nations allied with the United States in the region now acknowledge that the U.S. is a source of insecurity. Addressing the non-implementation of the Islamabad memorandum’s provisions by the Americans, the Speaker noted that the U.S. must fulfill its commitments for Iran to consider reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
In his remarks, Basim Naeem, the head of Islamic relations for Hamas, praised Iran’s actions, both militarily and politically, as a source of pride for the region. He mentioned that many countries were surprised by Iran’s stance against the United States, but Hamas was confident that the enemy would be taken aback by Iran’s response when confronted. Naeem, who also serves as the head of the Hamas movement in Gaza, affirmed that Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime is ongoing and will continue until the vestiges of this regime are removed from Palestinian land.
