Saudi Oil Exports Hit Nine-Year Low Amid Shipping Attacks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia‘s crude oil exports reached their lowest point in nine years during August, as oil tankers faced persistent attacks. Data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Al Masirah network, reported that Bloomberg indicated the decline in Saudi oil exports. The attacks on Saudi vessels in the Red Sea have endangered the country’s oil shipments, which historically utilized this route to bypass the Strait of Hormuz during conflicts.

Bloomberg characterized the reduction in Saudi oil exports as a setback for the Kingdom. The ongoing assaults on Saudi shipping have amplified concerns among Riyadh’s customers, leading some to express hesitation about utilizing Saudi ports in the Red Sea. This uncertainty has compelled Riyadh to explore alternative maritime routes that circumnavigate the African continent entirely.

Saudi Aramco declined to comment on its export figures, and the Kingdom’s Ministry of Energy did not respond to requests for comment from the media outlet.
