Yonhap News Agency, citing the South Korean Ministry of National Defense, reported that both nations intend to conduct these important defense consultations in the coming days. The parties are anticipated to examine the potential deployment of South Korean military personnel to the Strait of Hormuz during these talks. This issue has emerged following intensified U.S. appeals for Seoul to join international efforts aimed at ensuring the security of this critical waterway. South Korea had previously dispatched a team to the United Arab Emirates to assess the security situation in the region adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz.
