Energy Giants Skip Riyadh Summit Amid Security Fears and Flight Disruptions

Major global oil company executives have cancelled their participation in the Riyadh Energy Conference due to security concerns and significant flight disruptions impacting Saudi Arabia. The cancellations follow a Yemeni armed forces’ attack on Riyadh airport.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing a report by the Financial Times published by Mehr News Agency, senior executives from the world’s largest oil companies, including ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Shell, and BP, have canceled their plans to attend the Riyadh Energy Conference. This decision stems from security concerns and disruptions to flights within Saudi Arabia.
The cancellations come in the wake of an attack by Yemeni armed forces on Riyadh’s airport, which compelled airlines to reroute dozens of aircraft and led to the cancellation of over a thousand flights. Reports indicate that Saudi authorities have ordered the closure of several airports in the country amidst escalating attacks.
