Russia: 100,000 people joined the army in 2024

The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced this Wednesday that since the beginning of this year, more than 100,000 people have signed contracts to join the country’s army.

According to the statement of this department, about 1700 people enter the selection process every day. This organization emphasized that this number has increased after the terrorist attacks on Russia, and most of the people are ready to serve in the army in revenge for the terrorist attack in the Krokos City Hall in the Krasnogorsk district of Moscow.

This news came after Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced in March the plan to create more than 30 new army formations by 2024.

While statistics report that people are joining the Russian army, the government of Ukraine has reduced the age of service in the army from 28 years to 25 years, with the aim of increasing its military force and employing more people in the army.
