Moscow’s request to Yerevan: Do not be deceived by the West

report Mehr News Agency, citing Tass, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement while referring to the high-level tripartite meeting between the European Union, the United States and Armenia, asking Yerevan not to be deceived by the West.
This statement states: Moscow considers the EU-US-Armenia high-level meeting held in Brussels on April 5, 2024 as another attempt by the West to drag the South Caucasus. He knows the geopolitical confrontation. The destructive and irresponsible intervention of extra-regional forces in the South Caucasus and the desire to create division between the countries of the region and their neighbors will have negative consequences on the stability, security and economic growth of this region and will lead to the creation of new conflicts as well as the uncontrollable escalation of tension.
We read in the following statement: It is obvious that the West is trying to turn Armenia into a tool to implement its extremely dangerous plans in the South Caucasus. We know that Washington and Brussels are seeking Armenia’s withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union and the abandonment of Russian military bases and border guards with endless promises. We ask the leadership of Yerevan not to be deceived by the West and not to lead Armenia to the wrong path. A wrong path that is full of security gaps, serious economic problems and population migration.
It is also stated in another part of this statement: the aid announced by Brussels, compared to the benefits of several billion dollars that Armenia continues to receive in cooperation with Moscow and The Eurasian Economic Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States gains, is nothing, and fades away. Regional and bilateral problems in the South Caucasus should be resolved in accordance with the principle of regional responsibility; The main one was adopted during the second meeting of 3+3 on October 23, 2023 in Tehran, where Armenia was also present. We ask foreign players to respect these agreements and we also ask Yerevan to consider the concerns of neighboring countries when determining foreign policy.
