Zelensky rejected Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine
The president of Ukraine called Donald Trump's peace plan to end the war in Ukraine "primitive" and said he does not need it. |
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was ready to listen to the former US president’s proposals for war, but “if the deal with Russia involves giving up our territories, that’s a very primitive idea”.
According to the Hill magazine, Zelensky stated: “I need strong arguments; I don’t need extraordinary ideas. We need a real idea because people’s lives are at stake.”
This interview comes after the Washington Post revealed details of Trump’s plan to end the war in Ukraine. It is said that Trump, who has claimed many times before that he will end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours, plans to pressurize Kiev to cede Crimea and the border region of Donbass to Russia.
The Trump campaign did not respond to this report, but his spokesperson denied it.
Previously, Politico reported that Zelensky asked Trump to travel to Ukraine and visit war-torn areas.
