Hamas Denounces ‘New Crime’ in Gaza as Escalation Undermines Ceasefire Talks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas has strongly reacted to what it described as a “new crime” by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip. Hazem Qassem, the spokesperson for the Palestinian movement, stated on Saturday that the “criminal occupying regime” committed a “horrific crime” by targeting children and women inside refugee tents in Gaza City.
Qassem asserted that the “criminal enemy” continues to violate its commitments, with these acts occurring simultaneously with the commencement of meetings in Cairo to discuss the implementation of a ceasefire agreement. He emphasized that this demonstrates the occupying regime’s efforts to weaken and destroy the agreement, showing complete disregard for the endeavors of mediators and what is referred to as the “peace council.”
The Hamas spokesperson called upon mediating and guaranteeing countries to break their “circle of silence regarding these violations.” He urged them to declare a “clear and explicit stance” and to exert “real and serious pressure” on the occupying regime, which he identified as “the responsible party for obstruction and failure in implementing the agreement and its pathways.”
The Israeli regime reportedly targeted Palestinian refugee tents in Gaza City on Saturday afternoon, violating the ceasefire again with a drone strike. The attack resulted in the deaths of seven people and left fifteen others injured.
