Iraq Appoints New National Security Advisor

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qassem Hassan al-Aboudi has officially been appointed as the new National Security Advisor of Iraq, taking over from Qassem al-Aaraji. The handover ceremony was attended by Iraq’s Prime Minister, Ali Faleh al-Zaydi.
The Iraqi Prime Minister’s office issued a statement highlighting al-Zaydi’s emphasis on the necessity of continuous professional operations, enhancing institutional and organizational capabilities, and fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to the National Security Advisor’s office. These measures are intended to fortify the country’s security and stability, as well as augment the security capacities of all relevant agencies and institutions.
During the ceremony, al-Zaydi commended Qassem al-Aaraji for his professional conduct throughout his tenure. He urged for the continued pursuit of strategic security files and programs aimed at strengthening Iraq’s security decision-making independence and safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Qassem al-Aboudi is recognized as a prominent security figure in Iraq with extensive experience in administrative and security matters. Observers believe his background, having held numerous positions within Iraq’s security-related institutions, makes him well-suited for this sensitive role.
