Iraqi Foreign Minister Discusses Regional Stability and Iran-U.S. Understanding with UAE Counterpart

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed held discussions via telephone, according to data released by Mehr News Agency, quoting WAM News Agency.
The two sides conferred on bilateral relations and avenues for strengthening them across various sectors. Fuad Hussein underscored the depth and importance of Iraq-UAE relations, emphasizing the necessity of their continued development and the enhancement of joint cooperation.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister, referencing his country’s stance on recent regional developments, reiterated Iraq’s consistent position against war, its perpetuation or expansion, and its call for calm and diplomatic solutions, in addition to condemning attacks on member states of the Cooperation Council.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister noted that his country welcomes the understanding reached between Iran and the United States. He expressed hope that this understanding would contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region.
Bin Zayed, in turn, emphasized the UAE’s keen interest in bolstering relations with Iraq and expanding prospects for bilateral cooperation, wishing Iraq continued security, stability, and prosperity.
The foreign ministers of Iraq and the UAE also consulted on the latest regional and international developments of mutual concern. Fuad Hussein mentioned his contacts with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, regarding a number of issues pertinent to current members.
In conclusion, Fuad Hussein affirmed that he will soon undertake an official visit to the UAE as part of efforts to strengthen consultation and coordination between the two countries.
