Israel Prepares for Renewed Conflict with Iran Amidst Trump’s Heightened Rhetoric

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing a report from the Israeli Walla news outlet via Al-Shorouk, Tel Aviv is actively preparing for the possibility of renewed conflict with Iran. This comes at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his rhetoric concerning the potential termination of understandings with Tehran.
A security source from Israel indicated that U.S. military forces have not reduced their presence in the region following the establishment of a ceasefire, with troop deployments remaining at previous levels. This sustained presence is attributed to assessments that the situation remains fragile and susceptible to heightened tensions. U.S. forces are expected to remain in Israel until at least early 2027.
Conversely, security circles within the Israeli regime claim that Iran currently has no intention of resuming hostilities, opting instead to buy time and bolster its position for any future negotiations with the United States. Senior officials in the U.S. administration are also reportedly disinclined towards a broad military confrontation, though Iran’s continued threats against the U.S. could prompt President Trump to adopt a more stringent stance.
Walla also reported, citing Israeli security officials, that Iran is continuing to seek Hezbollah’s adherence to a ceasefire agreement through undisclosed channels, a demand that has been met with opposition from both Israel and the United States. A different Israeli security source asserted that current pressures are weakening Hezbollah’s standing, while the President of Lebanon continues to emphasize strengthening understandings with Israel, despite political pressures.
In parallel, Israeli sources have reported on security consultations between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and War Minister Yisrael Katz concerning Iran. The Israeli media outlet Yedioth Ahronoth has noted a state of full alert within the regime due to the potential resumption of conflict with Iran.
