Hezbollah Declares Framework Agreement Invalid, Rejects Direct Talks with Israel

A senior Hezbollah official has denounced a proposed framework agreement with Israel as illegitimate and stated that direct negotiations with the Zionist entity are unacceptable, asserting that Lebanon is effectively under U.S. guardianship.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ibrahim Al-Mousawi, a member of the Loyalty to Resistance bloc affiliated with Hezbollah in Lebanon, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that his party opposes the framework agreement, deeming it void, illegal, and based on falsehoods. He further emphasized Hezbollah’s rejection of direct negotiations with Israel.

Al-Mousawi, who also serves as a Hezbollah representative, added that Lebanon is entirely under American custodianship and that the framework agreement merely dictates terms without any consideration for Lebanese interests. He urged Lebanese officials not to exacerbate internal divisions.

The Hezbollah representative also indicated that the ruling authorities in Lebanon have entangled themselves and the country in direct negotiations with the enemy. He warned that Hezbollah would be compelled to react to actions taken by the Lebanese government.

Al-Mousawi suggested that anyone seeking Lebanon’s welfare should draw lessons from the Islamabad talks between Iran and the United States. He concluded by stressing that Lebanon’s decisions should not involve handing over the country’s interests to the United States and Israel. He cautioned that the Lebanese government has already conceded points and should not cede further national rights.
