Trump Vows to Reinstate Iran Blockade, Control Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed on Monday that his administration would reimpose a blockade on Iran, asserting the Strait of Hormuz would remain open regardless of Iran’s presence. Trump, posting on Truth Social, stated that the blockade would be reinstated to prevent Iranian ships or their customers from entering or exiting the waterway, while allowing other nations free passage.
The U.S. President declared that America would henceforth be recognized as the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz. He further stipulated that all associated costs for this mission and ensuring security in the volatile region must be compensated. To achieve this, Trump proposed a 20% fee on the value of all cargo passing through the strait.
Trump indicated that the process for implementing this plan and establishing the necessary mechanisms would commence immediately. This announcement comes amidst domestic criticism regarding his policies and their economic impact on the United States.
