Hezbollah Slams ‘Shameful’ Framework Agreement as Detrimental to Lebanese Sovereignty

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hassan Fadlallah, a Member of the Lebanese Parliament and a member of the “Loyalty to Resistance” bloc, stated that the Lebanese people have no confidence in their current government. He argued that the government is not working to protect the people, liberate the land, or defend national sovereignty. Instead, he criticized the recent agreement for offering a model where Lebanon relinquishes its land, people, sovereignty, and legitimate rights, prioritizing external interests over national ones.
Fadlallah emphasized that the government’s primary concern appears to be weakening Lebanon’s sources of power, a drive stemming from its reliance on foreign agendas aimed at undermining and disarming the resistance movement. He asserted that anyone familiar with rights, the constitution, and international agreements would recognize that all clauses of the framework agreement benefit the enemy, with not a single provision or even a word in favor of Lebanon.
The senior Hezbollah official described the framework agreement as the “worst agreement in the history of governments,” stressing that no sovereign nation would enter into such an accord with an occupying power. He also highlighted the current challenges and Hezbollah’s strategic approach, stating, “We are confronting this phase with wisdom, courage, and constant readiness to face all dangers.” Fadlallah added, “Despite all the events in the Strait of Hormuz, an agreement must ultimately be reached. The Islamic Republic is striving to impose a regional equation that will be beneficial for the region and our country.” He expressed full confidence in the leadership of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation to jointly arrive at a favorable solution, one that includes the enemy’s withdrawal from their land, cessation of all forms of aggression, the return of their people, the release of prisoners, and reconstruction, outlining these as the principles guiding their actions.
Regarding the issue of displaced persons, Fadlallah stated, “The daily suffering of our people is part of the pressure and war that the Zionist regime has imposed on our country.” He affirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to alleviating the people’s suffering to the best of their ability, viewing it as a religious, moral, and national responsibility. However, he clarified that the primary responsibility for rebuilding homes and facilitating the return of people to villages rests with the government due to its control over state budgets. Nevertheless, Hezbollah is contributing all its capabilities, emphasizing the inseparable bond between the resistance and the people, with all of Hezbollah’s resources now deployed in this humanitarian and social struggle.
