Israeli Forces Intensify Operations in Southern Syria, Detain and Release Local Youth

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local sources in Syria‘s Quneitra province reported that Israeli soldiers, traveling in five military vehicles, entered the village of Al-Muallaqah today. They detained one of the village’s young men, interrogated him, and subsequently released him. The Israeli soldiers also set up a temporary checkpoint at the village entrance, inspecting passing individuals.
Local sources highlighted an unprecedented increase in incursions by Israeli soldiers into the southern part of Quneitra province yesterday, characterizing these actions as an attempt to establish de facto control over the region’s villages and present Syria with a fait accompli. On Monday evening, Israeli soldiers had also established a military checkpoint on the road connecting Khan Arnabeh village to Owaniyah village in Quneitra province. They thoroughly inspected passersby and vehicles at the location. No reports of arrests were issued regarding this operation.
