Egyptian Foreign Minister Warns of Escalation Consequences for Regional Security

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos held a phone conversation to review bilateral relations and regional developments. The ministers explored avenues for strengthening strategic ties and underscored the importance of implementing labor agreements and advancing trilateral cooperation with Greece.
During their discussion, both ministers exchanged views on regional dynamics and strategies for reducing tensions. Minister Shoukry briefed his Cypriot counterpart on Egypt’s endeavors to de-escalate and contain conflicts. He stressed the necessity of prioritizing political and diplomatic resolutions to avert the expansion of hostilities, highlighting the potential repercussions for regional security, international navigation, and global trade and supply chains.
The Cypriot Foreign Minister commended Egypt’s stabilizing role and affirmed his country’s support for Cairo’s efforts to reduce tensions. Both sides agreed to maintain close consultations within the framework of their countries’ strategic relationship.
