Iran Strikes Inflict Heavy Damage on US Helicopters in Jordan, Dozens Injured

Multiple Iranian strikes targeting US military installations in Jordan over five days have resulted in significant damage to American Black Hawk helicopters and left dozens of personnel injured, according to reports citing US officials. The attacks underscore Iran’s advanced missile capabilities and its capacity to bypass US air defense systems.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the New York Times has acknowledged that Iran has inflicted considerable damage on a number of American helicopters stationed in Jordan. These helicopters are identified as Black Hawk models, with each valued at $21 million.

Citing American officials, the newspaper reported that US forces in Jordan experienced four Iranian attacks within a five-day period, which led to casualties and substantial damage. The Iranian assaults resulted in the injury of dozens of military personnel and caused severe damage to the American helicopters.

Officials further stated that Iran possesses extensive missile reserves and is now more capable than ever of penetrating US air defense systems. Jordan holds strategic importance as a primary base for American air operations. Prior to the commencement of hostilities, the Pentagon had relocated some of its forces from Bahrain, the UAE, and Qatar to more secure locations in Jordan and the occupied territories, increasing Jordan’s role in supporting US operations.

The initial Iranian attack targeted a facility at the King Faisal Air Base, resulting in the injury of five American soldiers. A subsequent attack struck a base in eastern Jordan where American helicopters were deployed. Forty-eight hours prior, Iranian missiles hit the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Azraq, injuring 20 American personnel who were moving towards shelters. Iran again targeted this base on Friday, leading to the reported deaths of two American soldiers and the injury of four others.

CBS News, referencing an American official, also reported that the Iranian attack resulted in the deaths of two US soldiers at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

Earlier, President Donald Trump described the incident as “very sad” in response to the deaths of two American soldiers in Jordan.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the deaths of two American soldiers in Iranian attacks on the US military base in Jordan.

Trump stated, “It is painful for us to see such an event occur; this incident is very sad.”
