The President’s message read: “We congratulate the success of the Spanish national football team and their well-deserved championship title in the World Cup to the nation and government of this country. The happiness of the friendly nation and government of Spain is the happiness of the nation and government of Iran.” Additionally, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, sent a message to the Speakers of the Senate and Representatives of Spain. In his message, Ghalibaf emphasized that Spain’s defense of the Palestinian people and its support for the Islamic Republic of Iran during the imposed war demonstrated the nation’s freedom-loving and anti-hegemonic characteristics.
