Yemen’s Ansarallah Issues Naval Blockade Warning to Saudi Arabia Amid Widespread Public Support

Yemen’s Ansarallah movement has announced a maritime navigation ban against Saudi Arabia, citing the kingdom’s failure to meet legitimate demands, a move met with widespread popular support across several Yemeni provinces.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ansarallah movement spokesperson Mohammed Abdulsalam stated that Saudi Arabia refused to concede to Yemen‘s just and legitimate demands, prompting Sana’a to implement a maritime navigation prohibition against the Saudis. Abdulsalam added that the Yemeni people endured significant suffering in the hope of achieving peaceful solutions away from military escalation, but the Saudi regime was merely delaying to evade its commitments.

Residents of Bart Al-Anan district in Yemen’s Al Jawf province expressed support and welcomed the decision by the country’s armed forces to impose a maritime traffic ban on Saudi Arabia, based on the “blockade for blockade” equation. In Hajjah city, Hajjah province, residents held a large gathering to declare their support for the armed forces’ decision on maritime traffic prohibition against Saudi Arabia, expressing readiness to back the move. Similarly, residents of Al Mahwit province also held extensive gatherings to announce their support for the maritime navigation ban against Saudi Arabia, emphasizing their readiness to provide backing for the decision. Media outlets also reported large public gatherings in Sa’dah province in support of the maritime traffic ban against Saudi Arabia.

Hizam Al-Assad, a member of Ansarallah’s political bureau, announced that the Yemeni navy has begun issuing warnings to Saudi vessels.
