Zionist Institutes Express Alarm Over Hamas’s Expanding Influence in Southern Lebanon

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Russia Today, an Israeli analysis center known as the Center for Information and Security Studies has examined the expanding military capabilities and structure of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on the Lebanese front. The center expressed concern over the strengthening strategic ties among resistance axis groups, referencing purported documents from the occupying army.

The report noted the establishment of a joint operations room during the “Sword of Jerusalem” battle in 2021. It stated that following this conflict, and through the efforts of the late Yahya Sinwar, a plan was developed to organize a combat force of 2,000 Hamas fighters for field cooperation with Hezbollah’s elite “Ridwan” unit. This structure played a significant role after the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation by conducting dozens of missile and combat operations against Zionist positions in northern occupied Palestine.

Experts at the Israeli center also acknowledged Hamas’s extensive popularity and influence among residents of Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. They assessed that efforts to restrict the movement are aimed at weakening support fronts for the resistance and serving the security interests of the occupying regime of Jerusalem.
