Russia: US Pressure Tactics Futile Against Iran
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, senior Russian diplomat Mikhail Ulyanov has asserted that the United States cannot realize its aims concerning Iran through the application of pressure tactics. Ulyanov indicated that Iran has endured U.S. sanctions for decades and demonstrated its resilience against “maximum pressure” during the initial term of President Donald Trump.
The permanent representative of Russia in Vienna further commented that positive results can only be achieved through sincere diplomacy, adding that the sooner the United States comprehends this, the better. His remarks follow the U.S. Treasury Department’s announcement of new sanctions targeting individuals associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Hezbollah.
In recent statements, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed to have initiated the most devastating economic operations against Iran, asserting that such measures have never been previously imposed on any nation.
