Hamas Denounces UNRWA Facility Demolition in Jerusalem as War Crime
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas issued a statement declaring the demolition of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) center in Kafr ‘Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, as a continuation of the systematic and ongoing aggression by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people. Hamas described the act as a blatant assault on a UN-affiliated entity and a direct challenge to UN resolutions and international treaties.
The movement emphasized that the persistent inability of the international community and the United Nations to respond effectively to the repeated crimes of the Zionist regime, which demonstrates disregard for the international order, encourages further transgressions, the imposition of violent policies, and greater violations of international treaties and norms.
Hamas, while condemning the incident, called upon the international community and the United Nations to act immediately to halt these aggressions and to adopt punitive and deterrent measures against the Zionist regime.
The movement also underscored the responsibility of the international community and the United Nations to support UNRWA and ensure its continued operations. UNRWA serves as an international witness to the issue of Palestinian refugees and their inalienable right to return to the homes and lands from which they were forcibly displaced by Zionist groups.
Furthermore, Dr. Bassam Naim, a member of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, stated that the destruction of the UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem by the Netanyahu government constitutes a war crime and a clear breach of international laws.
He added that this action is an insult to the international community from a rebellious and sick group that has guaranteed its impunity from any punishment for decades.
Bassam Naim stressed that the absence of practical punitive measures against the Zionist regime, with condemnations and verbal statements being the only response, amounts to complicity in this crime.
