US and North Korea May Hold Summit, South Korean Intelligence Suggests

South Korean intelligence indicates that a summit between the United States and North Korea could occur at any moment, with signs pointing to ongoing dialogue between the two nations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, signs of dialogue between the United States and North Korea have emerged, potentially paving the way for a summit meeting between officials from both countries at any time. This information was reported by Yon Kyong-yong, a member of the South Korean parliament, who cited the country’s intelligence service. The intelligence suggests that discussions are underway, hinting at a possible thawing of relations.

This development comes amid previous reports from Russian media outlet RT, which had noted that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made no mention of potential engagement with the United States during a recent summit, despite efforts by President Donald Trump to foster closer ties. North Korean state media had also remained silent on President Trump’s recent overtures.

President Trump had recently expressed his desire to resume communication with the North Korean leader this year, emphasizing a reduction in joint military exercises with South Korea.
