U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asserted American control over the Strait of Hormuz during a speech commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, echoing claims previously made by President Donald Trump. The remarks come as Trump also reiterated his stance against Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, speaking on the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, reiterated claims of American dominance over the Strait of Hormuz. These assertions align with previous statements made by President Donald Trump, who also addressed the anniversary event. Hegseth stated, “We have control over the Strait of Hormuz, and we will end this war.”

President Trump, during his address, emphasized the enduring memory of the September 11th attacks, stating, “I emphasize that we will never forget what happened on September 11th, and now in loyalty to this oath, we are fighting.” Trump, who frequently makes unsubstantiated claims against Iran, further alleged during his speech that “Iran is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, and it will never achieve nuclear weapons.”
