NATO Chief Asserts Putin Aims to Divide Allies, Denounces Russian Tactics

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg asserted on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin believes he can sow discord among NATO members and weaken their support for Ukraine. Speaking based on data published by the Mehr News Agency, quoting Euro News, Stoltenberg alleged that Russia is suffering substantial losses, with estimates indicating over 40,000 killed or severely wounded each month.

Stoltenberg elaborated on the alleged casualty figures, stating, “Just think about this for a moment: over 40,000 people. Every month. Despite these heavy losses, Putin shows no inclination to end the war. Russia’s hostile actions are reckless and dangerous, threatening human lives, but we will not be intimidated.”

The NATO chief further claimed that these tactics are indicative of a desperate government that has failed to achieve its objectives in Ukraine. He stated, “We know that these are the tactics of a failing state that has failed to achieve its goals in Ukraine. Putin imagines that he can divide us, destabilize us, and weaken our support for Ukraine. But he will fail.”

Stoltenberg also posited a hypothetical scenario involving China and Taiwan, suggesting, “If China decides to take action against Taiwan, Xi Jinping will first contact his smaller partner, Vladimir Putin in Moscow, to keep us busy here. In that case, we will face a situation where the Indo-Pacific region and Europe are increasingly interconnected.”
