Saudi Arabia’s Energy Infrastructure Targeted Amid Escalating Iran-US Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Financial Times has reported that Saudi Arabia‘s energy sector is currently exposed to attacks as Europe and the United States head into the cold season, a development that could significantly affect the energy supply of these nations. The report highlights that the conflict between Iran and the United States has entered a more perilous phase, with the expansion of hostilities in the Persian Gulf now directly threatening Saudi Arabia and the economic ambitions of Mohammed bin Salman.

Ansarullah forces in Yemen have seized control of a significant portion of the Red Sea coast and have launched attacks on Saudi Arabia’s energy infrastructure. Simultaneously, a drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline has caused its cessation. These developments also jeopardize the alternative route for transferring oil from the Persian Gulf should the Strait of Hormuz remain closed. If attacks on the pipeline or vessels in the Bab el-Mandeb strait continue, energy exports from the Persian Gulf to the West could be seriously disrupted.
