Sudan Gold Mine Collapse Claims 82 Lives, Rescue Efforts Continue

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the death toll from a gold mine collapse in Sudan has risen to 82 individuals. This tragic incident occurred in the African nation, according to reports from Al-Hadath news agency, citing information published by Mehr News Agency.

Earlier reports from the Sudanese Doctors’ Network indicated that the collapse in West Kordofan state had claimed 67 lives. Search efforts for survivors were ongoing at that time.

Two survivors speaking to Agence France-Presse recounted that the mine tunnels began to cave in on Tuesday, with rescue teams recovering dozens of bodies by Wednesday morning.

Khair El-Sayed Jabara, a rescued miner who participated in the overnight rescue operations, stated, “We do not know how many people are still trapped inside.”
