U.S. Treasury Sanctions Digital Currency Platform, Individuals Over Alleged Iran Ties

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has imposed sanctions on the ‘Bit Bank’ digital currency exchange platform and three individuals, alleging their support for the Iranian government, amidst ongoing U.S. efforts to exert economic pressure on Tehran.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has announced sanctions against the digital currency exchange platform “Bit Bank,” accusing it of supporting the Iranian government. The Treasury also stated that the new sanctions against Iran include an e-commerce company and three individuals.
The U.S. Treasury Department reiterated its commitment to targeting Iran’s digital asset system and any international companies or entities that facilitate its activities. These measures come as the United States has been unable to impose its demands on the Islamic Republic of Iran, whether militarily or economically.
