Iranian Lawmaker Highlights Public Resilience in Face of Foreign Threats

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mostafa Pourdehghan, the representative for Ardakan and a member of the Industries and Mines Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, stated in an interview that the United States and the Zionist regime, along with countries that have allowed their territory, water, or airspace to be used by adversaries, have engaged in actions designed to foster collapse, create instability, and introduce troublemakers into Iran. These hostile efforts, he asserted, were overcome by several factors.

Pourdehghan elaborated that alongside the efforts of individuals on the ground and the dedication of members of the armed forces, the primary factor in establishing and sustaining the system’s resilience was the public’s presence in the streets. He underscored the spontaneous nature of the public gatherings that occurred for 200 consecutive nights, clarifying that these were not organized, pre-rehearsed, or mandated by the government, parliament, or political groups. Instead, he described them as expressions of genuine affection for Iran, Islam, and the homeland, representing a continuation of the sacrifices made by the people for the establishment of the country.

The representative for Ardakan noted that these nightly gatherings persisted for the past 200 nights across all cities and towns nationwide. He shared his personal observations from visits to six provinces and various gatherings, highlighting that in Ardakan, a particularly active hub for such events in Yazd province, not a single night passed without public assembly. He observed that citizens never expressed fatigue, and the gatherings grew more fervent each night.

The member of the Industries and Mines Commission of the parliament described this public demonstration as unprecedented in the history of political systems. He contended that such a movement, occurring amidst challenging economic conditions, societal pressures, and facing the world’s most powerful political, economic, and military entity engaged in what he termed a “third world war,” demonstrated the people’s insight and loyalty to the system. Pourdehghan concluded by stating that it is now the responsibility of the executive branch, officials, and the country’s governance to provide a fitting response to the public’s deep understanding and commitment.
