Iraqi Shiite Leader Ammar al-Hakim Meets Egyptian President Sisi in Cairo

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim, the head of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo during a visit to the Egyptian capital. The two leaders engaged in consultations regarding the latest regional developments.

During their discussion, Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim underscored Iraq’s aspiration to stay clear of the adverse consequences stemming from ongoing regional transformations. President el-Sisi assured al-Hakim of Egypt’s support for the measures undertaken by the Iraqi government to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security.

Furthermore, the Egyptian President acknowledged and appreciated al-Hakim’s constructive role in bolstering stability and defending Iraq’s national interests. President el-Sisi also highlighted the importance of Iraq’s continued constructive engagement in strengthening collective security within Arab nations and preserving the capabilities of regional peoples, particularly in light of the current regional dynamics and their potential impact on the countries of the region.

Attendees at the meeting included Hassan Rashead, head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Directorate; Mohsen al-Hakim, deputy head of the National Wisdom Movement; Ahmed al-Hakim, advisor to the head of the National Wisdom Movement; and Qahtan Taha Janabi, Iraq’s Ambassador to Cairo.
