Turkey Discusses Gaza, Iran Tensions, and Regional De-escalation with US and Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Saturday that during the meeting between President Erdoğan and President Trump, the situation in Gaza and the latest developments concerning tensions surrounding Iran were discussed. Fidan emphasized that the injustices and killings perpetrated by Israel are no longer going unanswered. He noted that due to diplomatic efforts, Israel’s repression and killings are not proceeding without consequences, implying that Israel now faces significant costs for its actions. This isolation, including facing legal repercussions through institutions like the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, means Israel is confronting circumstances it has not previously encountered.

Fidan also revealed that discussions were held concerning the “Mecca Accord,” with specific attention given to military threats directed at Saudi Arabia. He stressed that the priority must be to continue diplomatic endeavors, avoid escalating conflict, and prevent the outbreak of another war. Furthermore, he confirmed that talks were held with American and Iranian counterparts on how to prevent the conflict from spreading further into the region.
