Najab affirms open Iraqi airports for Iran flights, calls for end to US presence
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Nazem Al-Saidi, head of the Executive Council of the Najab movement in Iraq, stated during a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the assassination of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon that the region is currently experiencing a complex ideological and geopolitical conflict. He asserted that the enemy’s objective is to dismantle the axis of resistance and impose a new world order through the exertion of power.
Al-Saidi added that the steadfastness of Muslim fighters within the axis of resistance, led by Iran, is the most significant factor in thwarting hegemonic projects. He noted that history demonstrates that those who lay down their arms have been betrayed, and that the United States and the Zionist regime offer no guarantees, understanding only the language of force.
He criticized the United States for claiming the right to establish bases worldwide under the pretext of national security, while simultaneously demanding that Iraqi Shiites relinquish their weapons and security against an aggressive and tyrannical enemy.
Al-Saidi further commented that condemnatory statements and expressions of disgust are insufficient, and that limiting opposition to media discourse constitutes an obvious shirking of moral and political responsibilities.
He stressed the necessity of convening an extraordinary and urgent parliamentary session to prevent Iraq’s participation in the unjust sanctions against Iran. He called for the country to be cleansed of American presence and for Iraqi assets to be liberated. Should the parliament delay, Al-Saidi warned that the movement would demand the suspension of membership for representatives of opposing factions and the cessation of their ministers’ activities in the government.
He specified that all Iraqi airports must remain open to Iranian flights and, conversely, should be cleared of British companies, with the full responsibility for their security and maintenance transferred to domestic firms.
Al-Saidi explained that the enemy’s plan to compensate for battlefield defeats involves drawing security institutions into confrontation with the resistance and igniting sectarian strife. He stated that those advocating for surrender justify infiltration and compromise under the guise of political realism, but that the fundamental stance of the movement is to support the oppressed.
He emphasized that resistance remains firmly in place and that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) will also persist. He concluded by asserting that the efforts of martyrs and mujahideen are the sole guarantor of Iraq’s sovereignty and stability.
