According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr Al-Busaidi, characterized the recent round of indirect talks between the United States and Iran, held in Muscat, as ‘very serious’ following their conclusion.
The diplomatic engagements, facilitated by the Omani government, were designed to thoroughly examine the respective viewpoints of both Tehran and Washington and pinpoint potential sectors where forward movement could be achieved.
In a statement released via the social media platform X, Minister Al-Busaidi affirmed that during the negotiations, the perspectives of both the Iranian and American delegations were clarified, and avenues for potential advancement were successfully identified.
Foreign Minister Al-Busaidi emphasized that the core objective now is the resumption of dialogue at an appropriate time, pending a precise evaluation of the outcomes achieved in both Tehran and Washington.
The latest iteration of nuclear-related discussions between Iran and the U.S. commenced on the morning of Friday, February 6th [using a contemporary date structure for 17 Bahman, which generally falls in early February] in the Omani capital. Negotiating delegations exchanged their views and considerations exclusively through the mediation of the Omani Foreign Minister.
Preliminary assessments suggest that both parties have concurred on the necessity of continuing these dialogue tracks in the near future.
