Lebanese President: Lebanon’s File on US President Trump’s Desk, Defends Israel Deal

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun reiterated his defense of a maritime border agreement with Israel, asserting that the ‘Framework Agreement’ with Tel Aviv is the best available option and that its positive impacts are becoming evident. He further stated that Lebanon’s case is currently on the desk of U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has once again defended the agreement with the Israeli regime, claiming that the memorandum of understanding known as the “Framework Agreement” between the Lebanese government and Tel Aviv is the best possible option, and its positive effects are gradually becoming apparent.

Aoun elaborated on the alleged positive impacts of the Framework Agreement, stating, “Washington is now listening to our views, and Lebanon‘s file is on the desk of U.S. President Donald Trump!”

He added, “Our goals are clear, and we will not compromise or fall short regarding Lebanon’s rights.”

Aoun also commented, “Having differences of opinion is a legitimate right, but conflict and dispute are not legitimate. Dialogue among Lebanese people must be within the framework of national interests, not personal gains.”

The Lebanese President further remarked, “Resentment and hatred do not build a country or strengthen its institutions; rather, they destroy them. The Lebanese people must choose a path that saves their country and protects it from the greed of others.”

He continued, “The path ahead is not smooth and is fraught with difficulties, but there is great hope that we will achieve results that put an end to bloodshed.”
