Trump Blames Canada for US Air Pollution, Threatens Tariffs

President Donald Trump has accused Canada of being responsible for the unhealthy air quality plaguing the United States, threatening further trade actions if the situation is not addressed.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, President Donald Trump stated that Canada is responsible for the polluted and unhealthy air that has enveloped the United States. In a social media post, Trump declared the situation “completely unacceptable” and asserted that Canada’s negligence in managing its forests and brushlands has led to the U.S. being “drowned in dangerous and completely unacceptable quality, dirty and unhealthy air.” Trump indicated he would contact the Canadian Prime Minister to discuss remedial actions, highlighting the “incalculable cost” of this issue. He further alleged that Canada has avoided participating in basic forest management and waste collection, a “deliberate neglect” that recurs annually and costs the United States billions of dollars, adding that this should be appended to the tariffs Canada currently pays.

The Trump administration has already imposed tariffs on various Canadian imports, although the country’s Supreme Court has ruled many of these tariffs unconstitutional. Trump has a history of adversarial stances towards Canada, previously expressing a desire to annex the country.
