Western Propaganda Exposed: Fabricated Image Used to Justify U.S. Attack on Iranian Hospital

Western-affiliated media outlets have been caught fabricating an image in an attempt to justify an illegal U.S. military attack on Iran’s Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Ahvaz, an act widely condemned as a war crime.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Western-backed propaganda tools are scrambling to find justifications for illegal actions by the U.S. military in Iran, following alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity, including attacks on civilian hospitals, infrastructure, and nuclear facilities.

One such justification for the U.S. military’s inhuman action in attacking Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Ahvaz last Thursday involved a doctored image. This image falsely claimed that a missile launcher belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was placed near the hospital’s entrance, supposedly to launch missile attacks on U.S. targets in the region.

Western-affiliated social media accounts circulated this image, accusing Iranian officials of stationing military equipment near medical facilities and using patients and civilians as human shields. The release of this fabricated image followed the U.S. military’s alleged terrorist attack on the hospital, an action considered inhuman and a war crime, which led to the evacuation of hundreds of patients and the temporary shutdown of the facility.

Al Jazeera, in its investigation of the image and its visual elements, compared them with the hospital’s geographical location and available authentic images, revealing the picture to be fake and fabricated. The Al Jazeera research team first identified the location of Beheshti Hospital and then compared the architectural elements in the alleged image with the actual facade of the hospital.

Documentary images of the hospital show its main entrance is a low-rise building with a wide concrete canopy above the door, bearing the hospital’s name in Persian and English. However, the fabricated image displays tall buildings with a different design, bearing no resemblance to the actual hospital entrance.

Furthermore, analysis of the image using AI-generated content detection tools indicates a 99% probability that the image was artificially and digitally produced.
