Qatar and Egypt Emphasize Diplomacy to De-escalate Regional Tensions

Doha: The foreign ministers of Qatar and Egypt held discussions in Doha, reaffirming their commitment to diplomatic engagement as a primary tool for reducing regional tensions and enhancing security and stability.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar‘s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, welcomed his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, in Doha. The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation and efforts to address regional developments, particularly ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions and bolstering regional security and stability.

During the talks, Al Thani underscored the importance of all parties adhering to dialogue and diplomacy, as well as implementing agreements within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran. He specifically highlighted the necessity of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to maintain regional security and consolidate achieved progress, thereby reinforcing regional stability.

The Qatari minister reiterated his country’s full support for all current endeavors focused on de-escalation and achieving a comprehensive agreement that would usher in lasting peace in the region.
