Iranian Official: Hormuz Strait Remains Under Iran’s Control; Vessels Must Adhere to Regulations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior Iranian political and security official, whose identity was not disclosed, informed Al Mayadeen television that the Strait of Hormuz has not been opened, and Iran has not made any alterations, not even minor ones, to its policy concerning this vital waterway. The source issued a stern warning, stating that any vessel that disregards the regulations and measures set by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with warnings and the necessary actions.

The Iranian official further elaborated that large vessels are currently unable to transit the waterway due to existing risks within the Strait of Hormuz. He added that if any ship makes a mistake by not adhering to Iran’s procedures and regulations, it could encounter technical issues or safety-related hazards.

Concluding his remarks, the official reiterated Iran’s firm and decisive stance: the Strait of Hormuz is under the supervision and management of Iran.
