Trump Claims Iran Naval Blockade Active, Dismisses Negotiation Prospects

U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that Iran’s naval blockade is operational and claimed that engaging in negotiations with Iran would be a waste of time, while also downplaying the future significance of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran’s naval blockade is active. Regarding potential negotiations with Iran, Trump stated, “We are not negotiating with Iran right now; because negotiating with them is a waste of time.” Trump, whose efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz have thus far been unsuccessful, sought to downplay this setback by claiming the strait will not hold as much importance in the future as it has in the past. The U.S. President also acknowledged Iran’s military capabilities, stating, “Iran still has some ability to fight, but overall, nothing but a hollow structure remains of them.” In his concluding remarks, Trump reiterated his dissatisfaction with South Korea’s lack of participation in the conflict against Iran, expressing displeasure that the Seoul government had not offered assistance regarding the Strait of Hormuz. He also claimed to have good relations with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
