Turkey Slams Netanyahu’s Statements as Israeli Incompetence

Turkey’s Directorate of Communications has strongly condemned remarks made by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, denouncing them as baseless and indicative of Israel’s inability to face its actions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency issued a statement in response to statements from Benjamin Netanyahu’s office targeting “Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.” The statement asserted that these “absurd and shameful” remarks lack historical truth and political seriousness, reflecting the impasse and incompetence of a government fleeing the consequences of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The statement further elaborated that the “pathetic policy” of Netanyahu’s cabinet, pursued for electoral gains, holds no resonance in the international community or the region. The Directorate added that the inappropriate statements from a regime awaiting international justice for genocide merely signify their rage and anger over Turkey‘s firm stance.

The Turkish institution also cautioned against the Israeli cabinet’s attempts to portray Turkey as a “new threat,” emphasizing that creating tensions for internal political competition in the occupied territories poses serious risks to regional and global peace and stability.

Separately, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, stated on social media that Netanyahu, as the primary perpetrator of genocide in the Gaza Strip, cannot conceal his crimes or evade responsibility for historical atrocities by accusing Turkey and its president.

Kurtulmuş described the Israeli Prime Minister’s office’s statements as “outrageous,” adding that “these Zionist gangs have no value or credibility for us.” He concluded his post by writing, “Sooner or later, Netanyahu and his cabinet will be tried in international court.”

This reaction follows a statement from the office of the Prime Minister of the Israeli regime. In response to an arrest warrant issued for Netanyahu in Turkey, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office claimed that “Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is seeking to expand his aggression against Israel through Syria, and Israel will not tolerate this.” The statement from Netanyahu’s office added, “Erdoğan’s shameful attempt to intimidate Israeli political and military leaders will not yield results. Israel will continue its decisive action against Turkey’s efforts to destabilize the region and any threat to its security.” The statement further alleged, “Erdoğan is an antisemitic dictator who massacred Kurds, harbors Hamas elements, occupied half of Cyprus, and imprisoned an unprecedented number of his journalists and opposition politicians. He is now seeking to expand his aggression against Israel into Syria, and Israel will not tolerate this.”

This strong stance from Netanyahu’s office against Turkey emerges as Ankara requested Interpol to apprehend the Israeli Prime Minister. Turkish Minister of Justice, Yılmaz Tunç, announced that Turkey has requested an Interpol “Red Notice” for Netanyahu due to ongoing judicial proceedings against him for genocide.
