US Vice President Vance: Preventing Iran’s Nuclear Weapons is America’s Primary Goal in Middle East

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance claimed in an interview with Newsmax that the primary and fundamental goal of American presence in the Middle East is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Vance asserted that Washington has numerous instruments at its disposal to deal with Iran, some of which are decisive and others economic. He added that one of America’s most potent tools is compelling Tehran to pay a price for its oil and gas trade.

The U.S. Vice President also commented on the flow of energy through the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that despite Iran’s efforts to close the strait, the United States has succeeded in moving between 7 to 15 million barrels of oil daily through this route.

Vance further stated, “We are striving to prevent an energy crisis that the Iranians are seeking to create.” He also claimed that Iran is under severe pressure, and this intense pressure aids Washington’s objective of ensuring Iran does not achieve nuclear weapon capability.
