India Condemns U.S. Attacks on Merchant Ships Near Oman Coast, Citing Fatalities

India has strongly condemned recent U.S. attacks on its merchant vessels near the coast of Oman, describing the actions as unjustifiable and resulting in the deaths of three Indian sailors.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, India has officially condemned U.S. attacks on its merchant ships close to the Omani coast, deeming them unjustified and unacceptable. The attacks resulted in the loss of three Indian sailors.

India’s Minister of External Affairs stated that he discussed the U.S. assaults on Indian merchant vessels near Oman with his American counterpart, Marco Rubio, during a phone conversation. This call followed India’s summoning of the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires for the second time in two days.

Previously, Reuters reported, citing an Indian source, that New Delhi had summoned the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy to protest the targeting of merchant ships off the Omani coast. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs conveyed to a U.S. diplomat that the American forces’ attacks on commercial vessels are unacceptable and undermine the security and stability of international maritime trade, a message also communicated to the Deputy Chief of Mission.
