Gold Mine Collapse in Sudan’s West Kordofan Kills 67

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a significant number of people have died due to a gold mine collapse in Sudan, an African nation. Sources reported the fatalities following the incident, which occurred in the West Kordofan state.

The Sudan Doctors Syndicate stated that the collapse of the gold mine in West Kordofan has claimed 67 lives. Search operations are continuing in the hope of finding survivors. Currently, more details about the incident and its cause have not been released.

Two survivors informed the Agence France-Presse that the mine’s tunnels began to collapse on Tuesday. By Wednesday morning, rescue teams had recovered 60 bodies. One rescued miner, Khair Al-Sayed Jabara, who participated in the overnight rescue operations, commented, “We do not know how many people are still trapped inside.”
