Lavrov: The treaty between Russia and Iran is a model of interaction between independent countries

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Mezikian signed the Joint Comprehensive Strategic Agreement between Iran and Russia yesterday (Friday) in Moscow.
According to Lavrov, this treaty is an example of cooperation between independent countries. He emphasized: This treaty is an example of how to establish relations between independent and equal countries.
Earlier, during a joint news conference with doctors in Moscow, Putin emphasized that the relations between the two countries are broad and in line with their interests.
According to him, “signing the comprehensive strategic agreement pursues lofty goals. Today, Iran is taking forward steps regarding its relations with Russia, and there are very important fields regarding energy-related relations between the two countries.”
