Oman Calls for International Sanctions on the Zionist Regime
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi sharply criticized the Israeli regime during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly. He called for international sanctions against Israel due to its ”blatant violations of international law and aggression against sovereign countries.”
He emphasized that “the global community faces critical challenges today that require solidarity, responsibility, and collective cooperation.”
referring to the Palestinian issue, he stressed: “The matter of Palestine must remain a priority in all our discussions. It is indeed time to end occupation and achieve a two-state solution to bring decades of conflict and deprivation to an end.”
The Omani foreign minister stated, “Recognizing the state of Palestine at this crucial juncture is the most vital step toward a just resolution of the conflict. It will demonstrate the international community’s commitment to a two-state solution.”
Critiquing Israel’s approach, he said: “Israel continues to ignore requests from the global community. It refuses serious dialogue leading to a comprehensive and just solution while persisting in policies based on force and silencing reasoned voices-actions that pose a grave threat to international system credibility.”
He urged practical measures from world leaders aimed at curbing Israel’s capacity to continue policies amounting to “genocide, destruction of Palestinian land, siege, and starvation of its people.”
Al-Busaidi also proposed launching a peaceful global campaign focused on lifting blockades, ending injustice against Palestinians, and establishing an independent palestinian state.
The Foreign Minister underscored Oman’s solidarity with Qatar by reaffirming Muscat’s support for Doha’s national security measures as well as condemning Israeli attacks against Qatar.
Concluding his remarks, he warned that rising global crises coupled with international incapacity in managing conflicts represent serious threats to worldwide peace and security if left unchecked.
